This is a map of Laura Ingalls Wilder, and her families travels until she settled in Mansfield Missouri.
After much research I have found that many of the pioneer families traveled great distances to find a better life. Plagues, fires, droughts and grasshoppers were some of the reasons the pioneers would have left their homes. Can you imagine packing up your whole home into a covered wagon and traveling with young children and sometimes livestock? These were some very hearty people.
