The Wilder Outdoor Theater was awarded two grants to assist in the staging for its new summer production, Part Two of the Fragments of a Dream Trilogy, “CHASING THE DREAM” that follows the life of Laura Ingalls and her family during their time in Walnut Grove. The production requires some added staging as it takes place more in the town of Walnut Grove during the years 1875 to 1876.
SMAC awarded the Wilder Pageant $10,000 to upgrade lighting, video and special effects for the new production. The Remick Foundation awarded the production $9,500 to develop a new staging platform capable of transformation into several different sets to evolve with the Trilogy as it moves through its three year cycle requiring a variety of locations to be represented.
The Wilder Outdoor Theater is grateful for the encouragement and support that these and other area organizations provide in support of the arts in Southwest Minnesota. Tickets available at walnutgrove.org. “CHASING THE DREAM” can be experienced on the second, third and fourth weekends in July.
